Forum Etiquette Protocol
The main focus of the FencingTalk.net forum is to provide a communication channel for the exchange of ideas and discussion, including the opportunity to seek help and assistance, on fencing related matters.
If you want to post new topics or respond to existing topics, you will need to register.
Forum topics and discussions are moderated. Moderators have the ability and the right to reject or delete a post and to ban users from posting to the forum entirely.
Set out below are rules of etiquette that forum participants should comply with to ensure that everyone gains maximum value from the forum discussions.
· Before posting, ensure that you search the forum to ensure the issue has not been previously discussed.
· Avoid typing in capital letters, excessive question marks (?) or exclamation points (!)
· Ensure all your commentary is civil and courteous.
· Constructive criticism is welcome, but insults or derogatory, abusive or rude language will not be tolerated.
· You can use emoticons to indicate tone of your commentary.
· Avoid posting extremely long posts. Posts should be as succinct as possible and should not exceed 200 words. Do not include attachments in your posts.
· Ensure you stay on topic. Replies should be answers to the original question. If you have a sub-question or a conversation that is not specifically on-topic to the original question, start a new discussion topic.
· Never pretend to be, or to represent someone else.
· Any post that contains an inappropriate link will be deleted.
· Make newcomers welcome to the forum.
· Help others. The forum is a community and works best when sharing information. Provide feedback if someone helps you or provides assistance to you in answering your question.
· Help Us. We would value your feedback and comments about the forum and any aspects of the website. Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome and encouraged.
